Is the U.S. economy already in recession?
U.S. gross domestic product (GDP) fell in the first quarter, and there are increasing signs it may do so again in the second.
If that turns out to be the case, it would match a popular rule of thumb that defines recessions as two or more consecutive quarters of negative GDP growth.
